It is located 180 km northwest from the Romanian capital, Bucharest, in a picturesque historical area, surrounded by green hills and mountains holding well known spas with natural springs, on the right side of the largest Romanian river, Olt. Established in 1971, VILMAR reached the highest standards of excellence after 1991, when it was bought by Groupe Genoyer who turned it into a modern manufacturing plant.
