We found the name Vapiano within an old Italian proverb Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano which means, If you have an easy-going and relaxed approach to life, you live more healthily and longer. Thats been the Vapiano way of life since the first restaurant opened on 22nd October 2002 in Hamburg, Germany. Two years later, the owners decided to take Vapiano on a world tour and today there are over 150 restaurants in 29 countries on 5 continents the world just loves Italian food! Here in Australia, our founder Will first saw Vapiano when he worked in Sweden and loved it so much he decided to bring this great global concept to Aussie shores. Weve opened one restaurant a year starting with Brisbane followed by Surfers Paradise, Melbourne and Sydney. We pride ourselves on simple food delivered within a clever concept.
