On April 2023 the Chief of Engineers approved South Atlantic Divisions (SAD) proposal to stand up Task Force Virgin Islands Puerto Rico (VIPR) to provide leadership, oversight, and support of USACE Civil Works and public infrastructure projects in US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, and to provide construction management of all construction activities. Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are lands of beauty and tropical wonder but also significant storm impacts and life-threatening flooding.
