Institutionalized youth often leave institutions in worse condition than they went in. Instead of receiving care, these youth are traumatized, abused and neglected. GLBT youth are 4x more likely to commit suicide than their peers, and those that undergo Conversion Therapy are 6x more likely. It is estimated that 1 in 3 GLBT individuals undergo Conversion Therapy. To date, there is no rehabilitative support for this population, outside of legal and political campaigns. The population included in our work include survivors of religious cults, privatized teen rehabs (The Troubled Teen Industry) and religious institutions that endorse Conversion Therapy. All survivors of Institutional Abuse are encouraged to reach out to receive help. Our mission is to reach as many survivors as we can, and provide services at no cost.
