Were a group of people passionate about soil sustainability and avoiding the perils of synthetic, petroleum-based chemical gardening. In the face of climate change and biodiversity loss, replenishing our soil can play a vital role in sequestering carbon, improving water retention, and enhancing soil fertility. In the early 2000s, our founder, Jake Evans saw how California soil was being saturated with synthetic, petroleum-derived chemicals, and depleted of its natural ability to sequester carbon and retain precious water. He realized how the fruits and vegetables we grow for our families were being robbed of their taste, nutritional value, and natural goodness.
