Alarmed by the poor literacy and numeracy levels of children in foster care and how they have the lowest educational outcomes nationally, Bronwyn Sheehan founded The Pyjama Foundation in 2004 to make a positive impact on the lives of our communities most vulnerable children. Currently there are more than 51,000 children in foster care and statistics show that 75% of these children will not complete schooling.
