The Orion School

The Orion School closed in 2013 Orion was an accredited, non-profit, special education school for complex students ages 5-13 with social and emotional challenges impacting school success. Educational approaches focused on experiential, high interest, student centered, and whole body learning . An organic garden, chickens, drumming, yoga, cooking, and extensive outings in the community encouraged authentic connections to our world. Conditions served included ADHD, Aspergers, anxiety, OCD, and learning differences. A 1:4 teacher to student ratio was kept to offer an ideal academic option for capable and inconsistent learners.
