The Steamship Historical Society of America (SSHSA), founded in 1935, is dedicated to documenting, preserving and sharing the history of engine-powered vessels and our maritime heritage. Based at the Ship History Center in Rhode Island, SSHSA has opened their library and archive of photographs, ephemera, artifacts, models, and maritime art to the public through research, tours, lectures, and more.
