San Diego Art Institute

San Diego Art Institute was initially founded in 1941 as the San Diego Business Mens Art Club. In 1950 the name was changed to the San Diego Art Institute, and three years later women were allowed membership into the organization. SDAI became a nonprofit in 1963 and has since remained the premier organization showcasing artists from the Southern California/Baja Norte region. We achieve this mission by creating innovative programs that respond to the needs of our communities, by offering world-class facilities to exhibit artwork, and by forging partnerships on a local and global scale
