The Roy J. Carver Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms of life. Our research program explores a broad range of disciplines, with strengths in structural biology and biophysics, plant biochemistry, molecular signaling, nucleic acid biochemistry, and microbial biochemistry. We are housed in the Molecular Biology Building on the beautiful Iowa State University campus. Our building features state-of-the-art lab spaces, research facilities, and teaching labs.
