Qatar Mineral Fibers will soon gear up to start production as the countrys first rockwool factory located at the New Industrial Area in Doha. The factory has a maximum capacity of 10,000 tons per year and the product range will include: slabs, mattresses, felts/rolls. As the name of the product suggests, rockwool is wool made of molten rocks. It is produced by melting stones in a cupola furnace at 1500 degree Celsius, and this is then spun into fibers.
