Who are we? Parents Beyond Breakup is a national charity working in many communities across Australia and focussing on suicide prevention in one of the most at risk demographics - separating parents. Why do we exist Every child deserves a great relationship with their parents, one that offers them the best possible start in life. We believe all mums and dads want to be the best parents that they can be, and that at times all of us struggle to live up to that expectation. We exist to help separated mums and dads deal with the practical and personal challenges that can get in the way of being the best parents they can be. How do we work We work to make positive change happen on an individual, cultural and systemic level. We help separated mums and dads to find more effective ways to deal with their situation; we do this through our helpline, local peer support groups and other resources.
