NUASA OAU

The department of management and accounting is one of the four departments created when the then institute of administration was converted into a faculty by a special resolution of the university senate on 5th march 1976. prior to this time, it was a unit within the institute providing postgraduate-level instructional programmes designed to professionalize the administrative class of government. The b.sc. accounting programme was developed to meet the middle and high level human resources need in accounting for both the private and public sectors of the economy. To date, the department has produced many graduates at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels who are serving this nation creditably in both private and public organisations. The Nigerian universities accounting students association (NUASA), Obafemi Awolowo University chapter, is the student body of the department of management and accounting.
