Newcastle Anglican

The Diocese of Newcastle has a rich history, celebrating 175 years in the Newcastle region as the longest-serving church, founded by Bishop William Tyrrell in 1847. Through our vision, People flourishing because of what we do, inspired by the way of Jesus; our purpose and focus are outreach to the community. With over fifty parishes in the Diocese, our footprint extends from the Central Coast, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle, Hunter, Paterson, and Port Stephens to the Manning region of New South Wales, Australia. The Newcastle Anglican ministry meets the needs of our community through its agencies Anglican Care, Samaritans, and Newcastle Anglican Schools. As fresh expressions of church emerge in response to becoming a mission-shaped church, many of our parishes are progressing towards Ministering Communities in Mission.
