National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD)

National Council for Persons with Disabilities is a State Corporation established by the Persons with Disabilities Act No. 14 of 2003 in Kenya. With a mandate derived from Section 7 of the Act, the Council is dedicated to championing the rights and equalization of opportunities for persons with disabilities. NCPWD has been at the forefront of formulating policies, developing measures, and implementing programmes to achieve equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. Our wide range of programmes and services are designed to empower and support persons with disabilities across the country. We believe in economic empowerment and offer grants to community self-help groups for income-generating projects, while also providing LPO financing and tools of trade to enhance entrepreneurship among PWDs.
