National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health (NCMNH)

Constituted in January 1994, by late Benazir Bhutto. A three-member committee was formed with the Secretary, Ministry of Health, as its Ex Officio Chairman, for analyzing high rate of Maternal Mortality and Morbidity and developing and demonstrating workable approaches with the objective to lower these rates. Three members were: Dr. Faridon Setna Dr. Sadiqua N. Jafarey Mrs. Imtiaz Kamal They co-opted specialists from other related fields. Neonate was included in 2005. It was originally named Prime Ministers Committee and was renamed to National Committee for Maternal and Neonatal Health(NCMNH)
