M/S Maritime Museum of Denmark

The museum communicates the story of Denmark as one of the worlds leading shipping nations, offering visitors unique and innovative exhibitions and world class architecture. Since the museum reopened in the new building in 2003, it has received a number of international awards for both its collections and architecture. The architects behind the structure, BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group), have been acknowledged worldwide for the iconic, underground building, placed around a former dry dock which creates a natural connection between the maritime history outside in the dock and inside in the collections.
