As a family owned business, Monks is dedicated to making sure your BBQ experience is traditional and authentic. We take no shortcuts when smoking our meats. This means long nights, but a great product that were proud to put our name on. Loudoun County natives, Brian Monk Jenkins and his wife Kirsten, started Monks in July 2011 as a mobile operation, set up outside of Corcoran Brewery in Waterford, Virginia. For Monk, smoking barbecue is a personal passion he began doing just on the weekends. Since then, theyve received many accolades, including Best Food Truck in the DC Area so when an opportunity became available to open a permanent restaurant location at 251 N. 21st Street, next to Southern States they went for it.
