Memphis College Prep Elementary

Memphis College Prep Elementary is a public charter school located in South Memphis. We serve approximately 300 students in grades Kindergarten through Fifth. We serve students who live in Memphis, Tennessee, in low-income areas, 99% are minorities, and 90% receive free or reduced lunch; however this at-risk population does not have their destiny determined. In times where one in 10 students from low-income communities will graduate from college, and in Memphis only 1 in 4 adults have a college degree, we hold strong to our mission of college graduation. Here at Memphis College Prep we believe the path to college begins in kindergarten. Our priority is to provide the highest quality education that will enable our students to not just get to college, but to graduate from college. This will happen by focusing on literacy and strong character development in the primary grades so that our students will be successful and engaged citizens of our community
