medica Liberia (mL) was founded in 2006 as a country program of medica mondiale (mm) and was transformed in June 2015 to a Liberian NGO for womens rights and empowerment. mL operates in the region around the capital Monrovia as well as in the structurally weak and very remote South East of the country. mL follows a feminist, holistic approach and, besides direct support to survivors of S/GBV, mLs interventions tackle social norms that generate and proliferate gender inequalities that lead to discrimination and violence against women (VAW)
