The firm was originally founded by Robert P. Lynn, Jr. over thirty years ago. Mr. Lynn established one of Long Islands premier litigation practices, trying cases in New York State and federal courts throughout the country, as well as handling appeals to the highest courts throughout the country. In September of 2006, Lynn & Gartner was formed when Judge Kenneth L. Gartner stepped down from his position with the New York State District Court to return to private practice. In Judge Gartners seven years on the bench, he had become the most published judge in the history of the New York State District Court. He was previously a partner in Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C., concentrating in complex commercial litigation and appeals.
