Our Mission The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation provides vital equipment and funds critical programs to help the LAFD save lives and protect communities. Why We Exist Approximately 97% of the citys budget for the LAFD goes towards personnel costs. This leaves just 3% to cover the cost of essential equipment, new technology, and training resources needed to keep our firefighters safe.
