International Methane Emissions Observatory - IMEO

Reducing methane emissions is the single fastest way to slow global warming as we decarbonize, but the world needs empirical data to enable climate action at scale. UNEPs International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) is harnessing a methane data revolution by putting open, reliable, and actionable data directly into the hands of individuals with the power to reduce emissions. Methane data is critical for closing the emissions gap by focusing mitigation efforts and tracking progress over time. Situated at the centre of the worlds methane data ecosystem, IMEO collects, synthesizes, and publishes data from its Methane Science Studies; from satellites via the Methane Alert and Response System (MARS); through rigorous industry reporting via the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0); and from national emissions inventories.
