INEB

INEB - Instituto de Engenharia Biomedica is a private non-profit association with the statute of public interest, founded in June 1989 by six institutions, including the University of Porto (UPorto). The Mission of INEB is to generate knowledge, by promoting research, advanced training and technology transfer in biomedical engineering. INEBs Vision is to be an international reference in the application of integrated engineering solutions to improve human health. In 2000 the IBMC.INEB was granted the statute of Associate Laboratory by the Ministry for Science and Technology. In 2008 IBMC, INEB and the IPATIMUP formed a consortium the I3S (Institute for Research and Innovation in Health). Transdisciplinarity is a distinctive feature of INEB. Integrative research, involving specialists in biomaterials, tissue regeneration, nanomedicine, bioimaging, medical signals, geoepidemiology, biology, and medicine has brought international recognition to the institute.
