ILLIES ENGINEERING (VIETNAM) CO., LTD

Founded in 1859 as the first German trading house operating in Japan, ILLIES is a pioneer in East Asian trade. Today the company is still family-owned and managed by the fifth generation of Illies with a strong regional base consisting of 12 branches in the Asian region. ILLIES opened its first representation in Vietnam 1958 in Saigon, as part of its successful market expansion in South East Asia. Activities, especially in the field of textile machinery, started prosperously. However, ILLIES withdrew from Vietnam in 1975 as a result of the difficult international and domestic political situation. In 1991 the branch office re-opened. Two years later ILLIES Vietnam added a second office in Hanoi. The company was officially renamed as ILLIES Engineering Vietnam Co. Ltd. in 2009.
