For one out of every four Canadian Armed Forces members, the process of being released from their military careers and transitioning back into civilian life can be stressful and complex. Due to these challenges, Veterans are twice as likely as Non-Veterans to become unhoused and female Veterans are twice as likely as their male counterparts to experience homelessness. The Homes For Heroes Foundation was established to find an enduring solution to this disconcerting and persistent national issue. Through careful research and implementation, we have designed a reintegration program that takes unhoused Veterans through to the point where they can rejoin society as independent, self-supporting, and productive citizens.
