Holy Family Hospital of Bethlehem Foundation is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. with a mission to deliver life, peace, and hope in the Holy Land. As a primary work of the Order of Malta, the worlds oldest Christian charity, we serve to further the Catholic values of preserving life, fostering peace, and giving hope to those without a voice. Decades of conflict have resulted in extreme hardship for families in the Bethlehem region, where unemployment continues to rise. The dire economic situation limits access to medical care, resulting in urgent public health issues that are worsened by road closures, curfews, and security checkpoints. Many of these issues disproportionately impact women and children, who often require specialized care. Refugee communities and remote villages are also impacted more severely.
