Hefei Institutes of Physical Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences

The Hefei Institutes of Physical Science (HFIPS) is one of the largest research bases within the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). Due to its main base that is located on a beautiful peninsula in Shushan Lake in Hefei, Southeast China, the HFIPS is also known as the Science Island. Nearly five decades have passed since its founding in 1970. Since then, the Science Island has been expanding its capabilities into multidisciplinary excellence with the concerted efforts by its more than 2700 FSA and visiting scholars from across the world.
