Hawkes is a 100% independent, Australian-owned craft beer company, co-founded by David Gibson and Nathan Lennon, alongside former Australian Prime Minister, Bob Hawke. Based in Marrickville, Sydney, Hawkes world-class, sustainability-focused brewery is powered entirely by its 100kw rooftop solar farm, while its closed-loop, carbon capture system, created in partnership with UTS Tech, uses CO2 from the fermentation process to hydroponically grow produce for use in the adjoining Australian-Chinese bistro, which forms part of The Bob Hawke Beer & Leisure Centre a 300-pax hospitality venue with a full bar pouring 10 taps of Hawkes tank-fresh brews, including: Hawkes Lager (2018 AIBA trophy) Hawkes Patio Pale (2022 AIBA Gold Medal) Hawkes Underdog Session Lager (2023 AIBA Gold Medal) Hawkes Half XPA (2023 Indies Gold Medal) Every sale of Hawkes beer helps the company give back to its environmental charity partner, Landcare Australia, to which Bob left 100% of his royalties.
