Girl Up UNS

Girl Up UNS located in Surakarta, which is a city in Indonesia known as the Spirit of Java. Many people refer to it as the sister of Yogyakarta, because of its similarities and proximity. The town is a centre of art and education filled with its charming and soft-spoken people. Sebelas Maret University or UNS is one of the most famous and biggest universities in Surakarta. Currently, they have more than 43,000 students with 12 faculties and more than 150 study programs. Unfortunately, not really different from other cities in Indonesia, UNS and Surakarta are still facing many problems regarding womens rights and gender equality. Therefore, on February 17th 2021, we decided to establish Girl Up UNS, with the mission of creating an inclusive, friendly and healthy environment towards women where they empower each other to build solidarity in the society that understands the urgent of gender equality, so at the end women can maximize their potential development
