Welcome to GTs Home on the Web On April 1, 1972, GT Distributors opened its doors. Bill Orr, our founder, is still active in the company. Our initial product lines were Smith & Wesson and Colt. That may not now seem to have been an extensive line, but at that time S&W sold more than guns and cuffs. They offered rifles, shotguns, armor, tear gas, breathalyzers, night vision, identa kits, radar, nightsticks, knives, rescue gear, resuscitators, ammo, holsters, sirens and lightbars. The GT name came from the fact that our original location was one block from the Georgia and Tennessee state line. In our current location at 100 McFarland Road in Rossville, our north property line is the state line. Now that we have a store in Texas, we like to think that GT means Georgia and Texas.
