Fort McKay First Nation (FMFN), located along the banks of the Athabasca River in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo north of Fort McMurray. There are approximately 800 Dene, Cree and Metis community members living in Fort McKay. The FMFN shares a border with the Fort McKay Metis Community and together we call Fort McKay home. The FMFN believes the practice and preservation of our traditional ways of life can occur simultaneously alongside continuous and responsible oil sands development.
