First Service was established in 1952. L.J. Jeter, the founder, opened the first office in Big Spring, Texas. Mr. Jeter operated the company as Jeter Sheetmetal, Inc. until 1984 when David Grosse purchased the company. Soon after the purchase, the name was changed to First Service Air Conditioning Contractors, Inc.
