First basic public prosecutors office in Belgrade is the largest basic public prosecutors office in the Republic of Serbia with 50 Deputy public prosecutors and 35 prosecutors assistants and interns and is in charge of five central municipalities of the City of Belgrade, Vracar, Savski venac, Stari grad, Zvezdara and Palilula According to the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia, the public prosecutors office is an independent state authority which is in charge of the prosecution of perpetrators of criminal offences and other punishable acts and which undertakes measures for the protection of constitutionality and legality.
