FC United of Manchester is a semi-professional football club based at Broadhurst Park, Moston, Manchester. The Club competes in the Northern Premier League, the seventh tier of the English football league system. FC United is owned and democratically run by its members. Our corporate structure is a Community Benefit Society and membership is open to all, with everyone an equal co-owner, holding one voting share in the Club. We are the largest fan-owned football club in the United Kingdom. FC United was founded in 2005 by Manchester United supporters opposed to American businessman Malcolm Glazers takeover of Manchester United. After entering the North West Counties Football League Division Two (10th tier) in our inaugural season, we achieved three consecutive promotions in the first three years of our existence and were promoted for a fourth time to compete in the National League North for the 2015/16 season.
