Familitex-Tecelagem Lda was founded in 1999 in Carapecos-Barcelos, being inicial constituted by three circular knitting machines. It resulted from the will of both founding members to invest in an extremely competitive market in the county, the textile. In only four years the company has undergone substantial changes in its structure resulting from the increasing in sales volume. The company that initially based their economic activity on the provision of services for other knitting companies was become to selling directly their products. In 2007 the company moved premises to the parish Tamel Sao Pedro Fins - Barcelos , improving facilities and increasing the number of machines to 20 circular knitting machines. To keep up the market demands, in 2009 it was created the Design Department, which create two annual collections Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter always following the last fashion market trends.
