e.t.s.v. Thor

The elektrotechnische studievereniging Thor, founded on the 28th of November 1957, is an association that focusses on the enrichment of the students following the studies Electrical Engineering or Automotive Technology at Eindhoven University of Technology. In order to achieve this goal, activities are organized for and by students. The activities organised for Thor members mostly revolve around three themes: Education, Development and Recreation. Some activities of Thor are embedded in the regular courses of students, like guest lectures and some excursions. Other activities try to enhance the development of the students. The study tours, conferences and workshops are a good example of this. Finally, recreation includes activities that do not have any special relationship to the study, but that are organised to improve the social life of the students. The most evident example of this part of Thor is Het Walhalla, the associations own pub on the sixth floor of Flux
