Essex Rebels

The Rebels Franchise encompasses elite level senior teams for both Basketball and Volleyball that compete on a national level driven to make a stand off the court and create positive change across communities. The Essex Rebels have been building on their success since their inception in the 2018/19 season when the University of Essex entered the WBBL for the first time. Adding two mens teams, who also compete in the first and 3rd division in the national league and incorporating a junior programme for 12-18 year olds, completes a robust basketball offering. In 2022/23 the University also established elite level mens and womens volleyball teams who complete at the top Super League level in the UK. The stunning Essex Sport Arena is home to the Essex Rebels and welcomes fans to its award-winning match days entertainment home games most weekends throughout the season.
