Don Bosco Fambul

The Salesian Congregation founded Don Bosco Fambul Freetown in 1998 during the civil conflict in Sierra Leone. To respond, Don Bosco relies on a holistic empowerment concept that focuses on the needs of young clients. We aim to reintegrate minors into their families of origin. Our programs include shelters for abuse survivors and accommodation for minors who we cannot reintegrate into their families of origin at that time. There is also a mobile program for minors in commercial sex work and at-risk children a nationwide 24-hour free and confidential ChildLine for child-related issues. In addition, a program at Pademba Prison provides inmates with education and psychosocial support. We pay particular attention to education-based prevention of gender-based violence and protection of the environment for the safety of the children through Eco-Project
