IN THE 70S, COSTAS LAZARIDIS strongly believed that not only could his homeland produce high quality wines deserving of a place on the world stage, but that in due time, Drama could eventually be crowned a City of Wine. In 1979, in Xiropotamos, a village situated on the slopes of Mount Falakro, Costas Lazaridis founded the first modern linear vineyard in Drama and later he built the only, at the time, modern winery in the region. After starting with a small 10-hectare vineyard, we now manage 300 hectares of private vineyards with the finest Greek and International grape varieties. The vineyards of the Estate can be found in 4 different locations around Drama: Adriani, Kali Vrisi, Katafyto and Platania, with each location possessing unique characteristics. Consequently, we take advantage of the versatile-multifaceted terroir of each area.
