Harold Butler and Richard Jezak opened a donut stand in 1953 and called it Dannys Donuts in Lakewood, CA. Butler created and changed the concept a year later from donut shop to a coffee with store. Dannys Donuts is renamed Dannys Coffee Shops and operation to 24 hours. Butler changes the name to Dennys Coffee Shops and in 1961 becomes Dennys. And the rest is history. Dennys goes to International opening first restaurant in Acapulco, Mexico. In 1981 its big milestone : the are now 1.000 Dennys across the country. In 2019 Dennys Corporation, franchisor an operator of one of the worlds largest full-service family dinning chains, announced opening of its first Indonesian location in Kasablanka Mall in Jakarta through a franchise agreement with PT Dennys Boga Indonesia.
