Darlinghurst Theatre Company

Darlinghurst Theatre Company has a history of making significant contributions to the community and the theatre industry. Our company developed and founded two other theatre organisations; Critical Stages from 2007 to 2012 and Milk Crate Theatre from 2001 to 2010 - now both stand alone theatre companies and leaders in their fields. Our company developed and opened two new Sydney theatres in 2001 a professional black box theatre in Potts Point, which in 2012 with the City of Sydney we preserved and is now the Hayes Theatre. And from 20082014 we collaborated with the City of Sydney on the development and design of the Eternity Playhouse including our company raising $700K for its fit out. At the Eternity Playhouse, we have developed a unique and highly collaborative model. We invite professional artists to pitch their production concept and Darlinghurst Theatre Co. produces and funds it from concept to stage including funding and paying artists at industry and award rates.
