Dairy Queen in Tyler began in 1957 with one walk-up store owned by Charles Norwood. These humble beginnings slowly grew to 3 walk-up DQs. 1967 Mr. Norwood partnered with Quinton Rasure. Mr. Rasure assumed the role of a 49% business partner. Their unified goal was to add on to their DQs by providing customers with a dining room where their neighbors could meet, and grow relationships.
