CoCooking is a startup based in Tokyo, Japan with the vision to empower people to become more creative and humanlike through everyday experiences with food. Founded in 2015 by cofounders Kazuma Kawagoe and Taichi Isaku, the companys main service TABETE is a food-rescue app that operates in Japan. We match excess food at restaurants and food services with people looking for food. Restaurants will post on the app when they have excess meals that might become waste, and users can browse through the app to look for meals to rescue. In most cases the meals are available at a discount price, so the users are happy to come pick up the food at the store. For the stores, not only can they gain extra revenue, but they also have the chance to meet new customers, and also get a reputation as an eco-friendly store.
