City of Halstead

Halstead is a vibrant community of around 2200 residents located in South Central Kansas just off of US HWY 50 along the banks of the Little Arkansas River. Situated in Harvey County, Halstead is about 10 minutes west of Newton, 25 miles east of Hutchinson, and 25 minutes northwest of Wichita. Halstead is part of the Wichita Metro area and has convenient access to US 50, I-135, and K-96 as well as the airports in Wichita, Newton, and Hutchinson. Halstead has a true downtown brick street commercial business district, a 9-hole municipal golf course, swimming pool, multiple parks, and a thriving industrial base.
