Cibola High School

Cibola High School is one of the largest schools in the Yuma Union High School District #70 and is accredited by Cognia. It opened in 1988 and its name is derived from a legend in Spanish history about great and limitless riches in the Seven Cities of Gold. Students selected Raiders as their school mascot. The City of Yuma is located in Southwestern Arizona, within ten miles of Mexico and California. The Yuma community has a year-round population of approximately 95,000 residents. It is composed of predominantly Hispanic and White ethnic groups. The main economic activities of the area include: agriculture, tourism, light industry, and government services, including two large military bases. Yumas six public high schools serve the largest number of migrant students in Arizona. Cibola High School, with a student population of more than 2,500, has approximately 200 migrant students
