The idea behind CHELEBI FURNITURE & DECOR was born in 2013 by Aida Mahmudova and Farid Rasulov, two Azerbaijani contemporary artists. Both accomplished in their respective mediums, they joined forces to create a truly modern yet unmistakably Azeri aesthetic primarily for Azeri interiors. Merging old and new is at the core of the business. And so ongoing collaborations with local and international artists, illustrators, designers and crafts people are key to producing their beautiful, original and limited-edition home wares. By artfully and sensitively referencing nuances of Azerbaijans past, CHELEBI pieces are, ultimately, future heirlooms. The CHELEBI store and offices are in Baku, however the company derives its name from a mountainous village in Garabagh in the north-west of the country, renowned for its richly decorated carpets.
