Certottica is a body notified in Brussels with identification number 0530 and authorised by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Labour and Social Security to issue CE certification of personal protective equipment for the eyes and total and partial facial protection, as well as a testing laboratory for certain particular categories of Class I personal protective equipment (such as sunglasses, ski goggles and swimming goggles) and Class I medical devices (such as prescription frames, pre-mounted glasses and ophthalmic lenses). It also has an agreement with the General Directorate for Market Harmonisation and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Economic Development, the Customs Agency and Anfao to monitor the optical sector market, preserving virtuous companies and safeguarding consumer safety.
