Central Queens Academy Charter Schools

Central Queens Academy Charter School is a high-performing, tuition-free, public school serving New York City Community School District 24. CQA I middle school opened in 2012 and CQA I elementary school opened in 2021. In 2023 CQA was granted a second charter to open an additional K-8 school. CQA II will open in August 2024 beginning with K and 1. We will grow CQA II by one grade each year until it reaches full-scale. CQA is looking for dozens of new educators to join our team as we expand over the next few years. CQA has a specific interest in improving academic and life outcomes for English Language Learners and recent immigrant populations. Our scholars primarily live in the Corona, Elmhurst and Woodside neighborhoods - some of the most overcrowded and diverse in New York City.
