Formerly the California Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), we are now the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI) thanks to 2021-2022 budget legislation. HCAIs portfolio of programs is growing, but it will continue with the programs it has been administering since it was created as OSHPD in 1978. HCAI will continue to provide the State with an enhanced understanding of the structure and function of its healthcare delivery systems. HCAI is a leader in collecting data and disseminating information about Californias healthcare infrastructure.
